I’ve imagined a glamorous foggy beach photo shoot ever since I moved to the coast. I had this story in mind: A mother and daughter are on their way to a formal wedding. They stop at the beach to run around and let the little girl get some energy out en route from the church to the reception. They frolic in the sand, kicking off their shoes, laughing and accomplishing some meaningful bonding.
Well, my wish finally came true, and it was nothing like that. It was freezing! SO COLD. We couldn’t actually stay in the sand for more than a few minutes because the wind was nuts. So I had to come up with another story:
Once upon a time, there was this mom. She wanted a setting as beautiful as her green silk Kamperett dress to shoot some photos for her blog. The foggy beach seemed just right, and her photographer lived nearby. She tried to chase her four-year-old daughter sand in the sand for some photos that would have the dress billowing about. But it was too cold to move. So they shot a handful of photos until the little girl started crying, “Mommy I SO COLD!”
