Before you is my attempt at channeling Jenna Lyons, who rocks denim like nobody’s business, and always has the best eyeglasses. The photos were taken and at the Susquehanna Trading Post, which has the most amazing turquoise jewelry and other Native American accessories, clothing, housewares, and art. I always beg my parents to stop there on our way to the airport when I’m returning to San Francisco, but we rarely have time. I made sure we left extra early on this trip, and I’m so glad we did. I love the shots my dad managed to get. I can only hope to make Ms. Lyons proud!
Though I’d like to claim it’s my own idea, my actual reason for channeling JCrew’s creative director is because Glam, the company that serves ads on Stylenik, and Crystal Light, makers of super low-cal beverages, asked me to emulate—”mock,” if you will—my favorite celebrity’s style for a campaign promoting their mocktails. She might not be a typical “celebrity” in the movie star or reality TV sense, but she’s a favorite among the fashion set, and she’s a master of tomboy cool. She has managed to morph JCrew into a brand known for fashion forward accessories and sequin skirts, while somehow maintaining its reputation for go-to cardigans and khakis. That’s basically the definition of genius.
Crystal Light Mocktails are a fun way to get all the taste of your favorite cocktails without all the alcohol. With five flavorful calories and zero regrets they’ve caused quite a stir. Find out more here.
