So this sale is technically “just for me,” but I’m going to share it with you guys. Weston Wear, one of my favorite San Francisco boutiques, has a spankin’ new selection of spring items, and you can get 20 percent off any of them if you mention an email from the store. Maybe don’t say that you received one (I mean, if you didn’t) because I would never encourage lying! BUT, all the email says you’re required to do is “mention this email,” so I’m trusting you ladies know how to take it from there. Also, you should sign up for their mailing list, obviously.
I have a long history of loving Weston Wear, as I’ve described previously. Julienne Weston, the woman behind Weston Wear, started designing clothes in San Francisco in 1980. She fell in love with Lycra when she discovered it after dancing for many years in clothing that did not stretch (egads!). I discovered her knits in the early 1990s when I worked briefly for Gallery of Jewels, which carried the line. Weston would have blow out sample sales with $5 racks that my friends and I would go completely nuts for. More than half of my wardrobe was Weston Wear at that time for sure. I sort of grew out of a lot of those clingy numbers, though I do still have two sweaters she did in a rare cotton cropped rib knit! And what do you know, cropped tops are all the rage once again.
One day maybe 15 years later, I was walking down Valencia Street and stopped in my tracks in front of the gorgeous, giant Weston Wear boutique in San Francisco’s Mission district. It was kind of like running into an old friend who seems to have aged backwards. The designs were totally current, the fabric was an even comfier and more breathable version of the pieces I remembered, and the prices were still totally affordable! I fell in love all over again. I bought an amazing silk watercolor print skirt with full-on crinoline underneath, and an incredibly easy-to-wear throw-on dress with a Japanese-inspired print. The shop also carries brands other than Weston, including denim and great accessories like jewelry, scarves, gloves and hats.
Little did it know, these days Anthropologie carries her pieces and celebrities including Taylor Swift and Malia Obama have been spotted in Weston’s designs. So, are you convinced yet? The store is also on the same block as Locanda and Bar Tartine. Either one is the perfect way to recover after an intense bout of shopping. How ’bout now? I convinced myself if nothing else—I know what I’m doing this weekend!
Note: As ridiculously gushing as it may seem, this is not a sponsored post. I’m just a freaking big fan.
