When Elena Zhukova asked if she could photograph Frida and me, I was so excited. I had connected with her as a fellow Pacifican on Facebook and admired her photography from afar. Her work is so good and so creative.
I carefully chose outfits for us, and unsurprisingly Frida refused to wear any of them. Instead, she wanted to wear my dresses or be naked. She would barely sit still for me to wrangle her hair into this situation, and she had also found a lip gloss of mine and wouldn’t give it up. Hence the above photo was born. Can you tell green is my favorite color? My amazing long dress is from Kamperett. It’s a silk wrap gown, and the heavenly fabric is pleasantly weighty and very soft. Read all about Kamperett in this article I wrote for Forbes (and this one too), and you can see more of it here. Frida’s dress was a Marc by Marc Jacobs score from Nordstrom Rack. You can see more of it (on me!) here and here.
