If you go to a friends’ birthday dinner party, try to arrange for one member of the party to be an owner of the restaurant. And if possible, her husband and co-owner should be the chef who makes amazingly creative and refreshing takes on Middle Eastern fare. And in the best-case scenario that restaurant should be Saha Arabic Fusion Restaurant at Sutter and Larkin in San Francisco.
Another thing you might want to plan is for the birthday girl to have incredibly beautiful, lively and intelligent friends who have awe-inspiring talents including but not at all limited to: Joey Tribiani-worthy bra-unhooking abilities, concocting delicious-smelling, remarkably effective, vegan and bad-stuff-free skin care products (preferably they should be Duchess Marden), and keeping approximately one dozen children alive and well.
Because very lucky for me, that was my experience just last night, and it was wonderfully fulfilling in heart, mind and stomach!
