I’ve been doing EVERYTHING from home so far in 2018. Working, exercising (we bought a squat rack, bench, weights, the whole thing), even socializing with play dates and, well, solo dates with myself trying to catch up with the Oscar-nominated movies after Frida is asleep. And that means I’ve basically worn exclusively comfy, stretchy clothing this year.
With limited contact with the outside world, it helps my self esteem quite a bit to shower daily and wear clothes during the day that I didn’t sleep in. I know, the bar is high around here in the fashion department lately, but I’m kind of killing it against all odds.
This cropped fleece sweatshirt with dramatic arms from Tobi is one of my favorites (and it’s on sale!). Besides being warm, it’s also cute, so when I pick up Frida at preschool I don’t look like I’ve given up on life. It also provides extra hand warmth which is often needed unexpectedly in this chilly coastal town. It can be 65 when I pick her up, and 55 by the time we leave the playground.
And the sweats with their sassy lace-up front (also on sale!) also give the impression that I still might be a fashion and style writer despite my infrequent ventures outside the home.
Aren’t these sneakers the best? I bought them to dance in the San Francisco Pride parade last year and haven’t worn them much since, so I will probably wear them again this year. They’re Stella McCartney x Adidas and no longer available but check out similar ones here (less expensive), here (medium expensive) and here (if you have to ask…).
How’s your year going? Here’s to staying comfy (though maybe being slightly more social) for the rest of February.
