On Sunday evening, in preparation for Lucky magazine’s fashion and beauty blogger conference (Lucky FABB), design and fashion guru Kelly Wearstler opened her gorgeous Los Angeles boutique in West Hollywood to us bloggers.
Ms. Wearstler herself was in attendance, though rumor had it she wasn’t feeling well and she left before yours truly could say hello (sad face). But while mingling, I was fortunate (?) enough to back myself directly into Lucky’s editor-in-chief, Brandon Holley. As I detected impact, I turned around to apologize. “I’m Brandon,” she said, holding out her hand. “I know!” I said. Then I began to sweat profusely. We chatted for a bit about… something? I think she asked me if I was headed to the conference the next day, and I think I managed to say yes.
Besides the celebrity guests, plenty of celebrity San Francisco bloggers were there, including Erin Hiemestra of Apartment 34, Carlina Harris of Allergic to Vanilla, Natalie Goel of Like Fresh Laundry, Krystal Bick of This Time Tomorrow, Meghan Brock of Voila!, Kim Mitchell of J’Adore Couture, Tara McNulty of The Wonder Girl, Rebecca Gunthrie of Thirty-Five-Inch Inseam, Jessica Ryzenberg of Ryzenberg On, and my newest friend, Cassidy Blackwell of Natural Selection.
I’m happy to report that none of these lovely ladies was involved with an apparent mishap—towards the end of the evening something loudly crashed to the floor, and it didn’t sound like the item survived the fall. The incident ended the party, but it was already a half hour past its expiration, and it didn’t at all dampen our spirits after sipping wine and cocktails surrounded by so much beauty and in such great company–especially since we all left with one of her fab T-shirts!
And we all got to see each other again the next day at Lucky FABB, stay tuned for more on that soon!
