I am actually looking at an ocean right now, but it’s a very cold one, and it’s pouring rain outside. Basically there aren’t all that many occasions when dunking your head into the sea would be worth a coveted harido. Hence the “surf spray” phenomenon. But I never really got “texturizers” and the rest of those products that make sexy-messy hair promises. They all just made my hair limp and heavy.
Until this one! OK so this is me without makeup and in my post-yoga wear, so be nice. The amazing folks at Hair Collective in San Francisco (check them out here, here and here) gave me some Kevin Murphy Hair Resort Beach texturizer. And even though I fully trust the HC stylists, I tried it will full skepticism, convinced that my hair was impervious to artificial beachifying. But this stuff totally made my hair look and feel exactly like it does after swimming in the ocean, down to the extra thick, kind of knotty texture and actual beachy waves. I do have naturally wavy hair (I air dried it here and didn’t use a curling iron). But this stuff kicked it up a notch. My pony tail is twice its normal size. You can see what it looked like on day one here. Above is what it looks like now, on day three, after two yoga classes and one dance class (gross?). Actually, if I’m not careful, I’m pretty sure it will start dreading. It also smells wonderful (still). I’m hooked.
