I am obsessed with literally every look in the Rosie Assoulin fall 2016 collection. The giant pants with foot-long cuffs (they may actually be two feet long), the use of color, the suiting, the GOWNS, even the backdrop! I can’t help but wonder if they burned lots of candles in preparation for the presentation or if they lit them the morning of the event and hoped for the best. They also geniusly match the colors in the collection.
The most delightful thing to me about viewing this collection as a whole is how different each look is, but how it nevertheless all fits together as a collection. Even the bright turquoise and the emerald green pieces don’t look out of place.
The designer talks in this article about wanting to make a ball gown feel like sweatpants, and wanting to dress women of a certain age, which entices me all the more. Specifically, she’d love to see Hilary Clinton in a red suit she designed. Please, Hilary, do it!
I have talked a lot during the history of this blog about wearing a “hippie wedding dress” to renew my vows, but wouldn’t this white suit be just perfect? I still adore a hippie wedding dress but, alas, times change, people change. Fashion bloggers get older 🙂
