When my husband and I moved to Pacifica, California in April, we were super excited about being close to the ocean and amazing hiking trails. Something we did not consider: we are also minutes away from pumpkin ground zero.
Half Moon Bay is a mere 10 miles south, and the city does not mess around when it comes it orange gourds. Their annual pumpkin festival was this weekend, where you can find plenty of caramel apples, pumpkin pie galore, and a scary scary looking haunted house (My husband was too scared to go in, don’t tell him I told you). And the town is positively surrounded by various charming pumpkin purveyors.
The Timberland Earthkeeper boots you see before you were the perfect footwear for tromping through the muddy pumpkin patches in a stylish manner. They are waterproof! They also come in three other colors. If you’re wondering about the earthy part? Or maybe even skeptical? The leather is tanned at a facility that’s water- and energy-efficient, and that disposes of waste responsibly. Also, the mesh linings are made of recycled plastic bottles. So don’t give them any lip. The boots are also comfy! They came in super handy during fashion week in New York when it was raining and I walked what felt like 5 miles per day.
The Timberland tote (made with organic cotton sans toxins) I’m carrying was the perfect size for stashing two pumpkins! And I’m rocking a pair of polarized and Timberland wayfarers to cut the glare of the overcast day.
All in all I was suited up nicely for a day of decorative gourd shopping. Happy Halloween everyone!
