Welcome to the Eyeliner Chronicles! Every Monday, I interview a girlfriend who manages to achieve that perfect Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot, Marilyn Monroe (pick your fave eyeliner icon!) look. Eyeliner application isn’t a one size fits all affair. Different strokes for different folks, and I figure if we catalogue enough techniques we can find methods that work for each and every one of us.
This week, however, I’m featuring someone who has always been pretty clueless about eyeliner: myself. I had the major privilege of being made up last week for the Guess video shoot by a professional: Nam Vo. She has done some amazing work for Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Cover Girl, and tons more. She did me up with a cat eye, fake eyelashes, and shimmery shadow. I was pretty thrilled with results I must say. I wish she could do my makeup every day! Check her out after the jump on set in Vietnam.

Key points about how Nam created my cat eye:
2. She drew a definite line to create the wing, but used a thick-ish angled brush to soften the line along the lashes.
3. For the lid, she used the Shiseido Color Trio in Voyage.
4. She suited me up with amazing individual false eyelashes!
