I made my way to H&M pretty late on Thursday after the Marni collaboration launched, and I expected to get nothing. There was still a giant line wrapped around the upstairs, which was good because it meant there was stuff left, but bad because it meant waiting.
Luckily it went fast: 15 shoppers were allowed in for 10 minutes before they were booted to the registers. But it was panic-inducing once inside. Not much was left—in particular I missed out on the silver platforms I was pining for. But a size 7 black and green pair magically appeared before me after I’d resigned to buying an 8 even though they were too large! Sadly the same thing didn’t happen with the leather top I craved, so I bought a larger one hoping a tailor can work some magic. I scored a few other fun pieces that I will share will you on this very blog shortly!
Meanwhile, it turns out the beach is not the best place to wear your 5-inch Marni platforms. Whaddya know? I nearly broke my ankle (again). But aren’t they so pretty? I’ve been dying to wear these salmon corduroys since I got them last fall at Levi’s event. They were a tad snug then, but these days I’m managing to squeeze into them without much discomfort, yay for Daily Burn! The shirt is a silk Gat Rimon number from my beloved Mira Mira, and the clutch is American Apparel. The earrings are a current fave from Anthropologie (similar here). I kind of love the 60s/70s vibe the husband achieved during this photoshoot. I’m so grateful to live by the ocean.
