This past weekend, the husband and I took a trip down to Southern California to visit his family. For the first time in the history of my blogging life, HE SUGGESTED we take an outfit photo. He is in love with the mountain behind my head in this photo, and he’s always wanted to stop and try to get a better look at it. It’s on route 152 on a stretch of truly beautiful land scattered with farms and hills.
As usual, I was rushing around as we packed up the car and wrangled Frida into the car seat. I figured I’d apply my makeup on the way, but then Kourosh said these four horrible words: “Do you mind driving?” Ugh. But he ALWAYS drives and he always does so many other things too so of course I said yes.
That meant that when we arrived at the mountain and had to jump out of the car and pray that Frida didn’t start fussing because we were way too close to the freeway to let her out of the car, I had no time to apply anything besides True Nature Botanicals Pacific Everyday Sheer Coverage with SPF 20. I didn’t even realize it until after we got back in the car and I said oh my god I wasn’t wearing any makeup for those photos and the husband said, “You look great!” and of course he had to say that but I think he meant it.
And then I saw the photo and I was like wow my face looks kind of tan and smooth and I remembered how lovely the stuff felt when I applied it earlier and I knew then it was my one true love makeup.
PLUS, not only does it contain pearl powder for strategic light reflection, but it also doesn’t have any nasty stuff (parabens, et al), it’s SPF 20, it feels super light on the skin and has tons of antioxidants and other high-quality ingredients. I actually published an interview on Forbes about the founder, Hillary Peterson, who created True Nature Botanicals after a bout with thyroid cancer; check it out here.
Wearing: Marine Layer t-shirt, necklace by Rhiannon Griego (sorry she doesn’t make them anymore! But she makes other beautiful things.) The husband bought it for me for Xmas at Fiat Lux. Erica Tanov clutch, Mason by Michelle Mason sweater that I won in a styling contest on ShopStyle seven years ago!
