The eagerly anticipated partnership between Toms Shoes and Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen’s high-end line The Row is finally available at Nieman Marcus and at the Toms website. The line is a little more expensive at $98 to $150 than his baseline canvas versions, but these are made with Italian-sourced wool, cashmere blends, and apparently hemp, which I just noticed at Nieman’s. And they’re a total bargain compared to The Row’s typical price point.
In February Toms announced they would make plaid, solid and herringbone — so far I only see plaid and solid on their site for $150, and you can find the hemp version at Nieman’s for $98. Also the philanthropic one-for-one concept still stands. (Did you know Toms launched a similar program for eyewear?) I’m thinking these wooly shoes are a good way to keep toes toasty on plane rides this winter. Or just, like, in my house, where right now the fog is so thick that it’s dripping form the tree branches like rain. In August.
