Toni Francesc called his fall collection “Garuda,” a shapeshifting bird that appears in Hindu and Buddhist mythology and symbolizes speed and martial prowess. Indonesia and Thailand use the mythical bird as their national symbol. It’s kind of fun to keep that in mind while watching the runway show, with it’s haunting soundtrack, high-waisted skirts and pants, colorful satin fabrics contrasted with gray wool pieces, obi belts, and bright red lips. I love how proud he looks as he walks down the runway and takes his bow. Check out Mr. Francesc below with his models — I love the contrast of his curly hippie-ish locks with the done-up models. Go Toni!
