When I lived in San Francisco, I was always on the hunt for pinecones when the holidays rolled around. I wanted to paint them silver and gold and place the around my apartment in a festive manner. But there weren’t any pinecones in the city, and I was too poor to pay money for such a non-necessity.
So, one day when the boyfriend (at the time, this was a LONG time ago) and I were walking in Golden Gate Park, we came across some pinecones and I stuffed about a dozen into my backpack (Is that allowed? Probably not, shh).
I STILL have them after all these years (possibly 20 years, not kidding). I have moved them with me to approximately seven residences. And the funny thing is that I now live in a house that is literally showered in pinecones on a daily basis. We have enormous pine trees surrounded our house, and the ground is littered with them. When one hits the roof, it’s terrifying.
So when I found these DIY (or GIY (for “glam” as Mode calls them) tutorials, I was so excited, especially when I saw that they’re so easy that even I could do them. And hey, if anyone needs any pinecones for these, hit me up!
